Stirrup jar from Skyros. Late Helladic IIIC period, 12th century BC. The belly bears a representation of a ship with a bird-shaped figure-head. The theme of the representation has been related to the 'Sea People' who, in this period, crossed the seas of the Mycenaean world in similar ships. Archaeological Museum, Skyros 77.
