This period began soon after the Liberation and practically
ended in the second half of the 1940s with the termination of the Civil War, which left deep scars on the country.
This was a critical period marked by the polarization course between the two superpowers (USA-USSR), which led to
the Cold War. The consequences of conflicts inside Greece on the one hand and of international tensions on the
other marked the social-political developments in Greece for several decades.
