This project analyses Hellenic prehistory, protohistory and history. To facilitate research and information usage, time has been divided into 15 periods.

Each period is divided into 4 areas: Politics, Society, Economy, Culture and each area examines historical personalities, events, institutions and the living environment. The approach to these issues is based on the principles of microhistory.

In addition to the text, each entry is accompanied by a rich display of images, a glossary, references to the sources and a bibliography. Links to other Internet sites and references to research centres or researchers working on the specific unit are also available. Naturally, and in accordance with FHW policy, the technological potential of the medium is fully exploited, so the text has been linked with images, sounds, videos, 3D reconstructions etc.
