Thematic Units
The aim of the conference was to promote issues that have to do with the use and dissemination of cultural information through digital technology, as well as the contribution of the latter to the shaping of a framework of convergence and promotion of cultures.
The themes that were going to be developed in the Conference focused on the following units:
Digital administration of cultural heritage and its utilization in the educational process
Databases, digital productions (text, image, audio), Internet and information dissemination, the requirements of new technologies, distance learning, information networks and technologies for the transcription of cultural data.
Cultural institutions, museums and sponsors
More specifically, the recording and management of the collections, the participation of the museums in national and international programmes, the contribution of new technologies in cultural communication, the educational role of the museums, the contribution of sponsorship in promoting and disseminating cultural heritage.
New forms of perceiving and reconstructing space
The three-dimensional reconstruction and virtual reality, animation and interactivity in cartography, geographical information systems, new architecture and the procedure of digital representing space.
The 2nd International conference "Cultural Convergence and Digital Technology"
proved to be highly successful.
